Well done to Deniz for completing his one week work experience placement at Ordara. Throughout his whirlwind tour of our day-to-day technical operations he was always happy to help, listened attentively and showed initiative.
As part of his placement Deniz got to experience first-hand the world of business by working alongside our skilled team. Of course it began with a health and safety briefing, a quick office risk assessment and some fire safety training. Deniz then assembled his own SBC workstation, installed and configured linux for his tenure, and configured a VoIP phone.
His next day was on the road as a field engineer, meeting with clients on-site and helping the team to diagnose and repair technical issues.
Day three focussed on hardware assembly - learning how to use a soldering iron safely and practicing the art of soldering printed circuit boards. He followed his work through the cleaning, QA and packaging phases and got to keep a complete unit, which he was able to plug into his workstation and control using his own Python script.
With a clear aptitude for coding he spent the next days at his computer learning to hone his skills. He covered a wide range of HTML, Python and linux terminal topics and even completed a small Python project based on a short brief.
Deniz you conducted yourself politely and respectfully and demonstrated strong technical aptitude, it was a pleasure having you with us! We hope the experience proved valuable and we all wish you the best for your future.
