The proportion of people working from home more than doubled last year because of the strict Coronavirus rules in UK workplaces. According to official figures from the Office for National Statistics (ONS) 25.9% (8.4 million people) were doing all or some of their work from home, which compares with just 12.4% in 2019.
But as restrictions were lifted earlier this year it was expected that many people would return to their previous workplaces, but it seems that they now demand a much more flexible working arrangement. By June this year 44% of those aged between 30 and 49 said they are now working from home. (Source: Statista)
But whether people are going to work or working from home, takeaway lunches are continuing to rise so restaurants, cafés and takeaways have been responding by producing simplified lunch menus, lunchtime delivery services and food items which are specially appropriate for home or office eating such as simple nutritious food that is tasty and satisfying but doesn't dribble sauce over computer keyboards or leave a strong smell in the office or the home.
